Privacy policy
WetinDey ("we") is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME AND ADDRESS]. This page explains what the app collects and why.
What we collect
- Phone number (Nigerian +234 numbers only), only when you sign in. Used to send your sign-in code by SMS or WhatsApp and to protect the app from abuse.
- Your location, only when you tap "Use my location" or send a report. A report carries the place and time it was made so others can trust it. We do not track you in the background.
- Photos you take inside the app for a report or post. We shrink them and remove the location data inside the file.
- What you post: reports, prices, posts, confirmations, reactions, blocks and mutes.
- Device identifier created by the app (not your phone's advertising ID) to limit abuse and keep you signed in.
- Your choices: language, your areas, and the date and version of the terms and privacy policy you accepted. Marketing messages are off unless you tick the box.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not show your phone number to other users. Contact details in a post are shown only after a signed-in reader asks to reveal them, and each reveal is logged.
Who sees it
Other readers see your reports and posts without your phone number. Our service providers (SMS and WhatsApp delivery, hosting, maps) process data for us under contract. [LEGAL: list providers and countries.] We may share data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
While your account is open. When you delete it, personal data is deleted or anonymised as described on Delete account. [LEGAL: confirm retention.]
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and to stop marketing messages, at any time through support or in the app. You may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
WetinDey is for people 18 and older. You confirm this when you first sign in.
Changes
If we change this policy we show the new version in the app and ask you to accept it.
